Tutorial · Thursday 3 April
In Rails Conference tradition, we are offering a charity tutorial day on Thursday 3 April: come early to learn about Ruby and Rails from some of the top people in the industry. While the day is aimed at helping those new to Rails get more out of the conference, everyone will gain something valuable from teachers such as Jim Weirich, Joe O’Brien, Bruce Williams, Giles Bowkett, and Craig Webster.
Topics covered include
- Introduction to Ruby
- Introduction to Rails
- 10 things Java programmers should know about Ruby
- Lisp-like techniques in Ruby
All we ask is a minimum donation of £75 to the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, which you can make here. The tutors are donating their time for free, and all costs are being met by Scotland on Rails and Skills Matter.
Tutorial registration
Register for the charity tutorial by making a minimum £75 donation to CHAS using this link and either sending a note to conference@scotlandonrails.com or ticking the charity tutorial box during registration.
Please use the same email address here and on justgiving.com to help us tie up who's coming. Thanks!
